Hunts

First and foremost all our hunts are on public land and fair chase. That being said we abide by all the laws and regulations set by the game of fish of the state of Wyoming. We accommodate both archery and rifle hunts. The hunting area is accessed by horseback. All of my horses and mules are raised in the mountains and are very experienced and willing to do their best for you but even good horses have a bad day and there is always some risk involved with working with such animals. You may leave camp as early as 4 am depending on desired hunting location. Hunting locations can take up to 3 hours to access horseback please note a lot of the travel time horseback will be in the dark early morning hours or the dark evening hours. Upon reaching the desired hunting location we will tie up the horses and begin glassing. We spend a lot of time glassing. When the desired animal is located a plan will be formed between you and your guide on how the best way to pursue and harvest the animal will be. Please note that a-lot of factors come into play and not all pursuits are successful.

Hunt Area

We are permitted on the Caribou-Targee National Forest. We are 1 of 2 permitted outfitters located on this forest. We have been blessed with no wolves or grizzly bears. An occasional wolf or grizzly will wonder through the area but this is a rare occasion. Elevations very form 7000 ft to 9500 ft. A very unique landscape that ranges from great big open meadows to thick timber. The higher elevations is equipped with green open sidehills with cliffs and timber.

What expectations should I have prior to my hunt?

The terrain where we hunt is very steep and demanding. The success of your hunt will depend on your abilities. This does not mean that you need to be in perfect shape but I highly suggest that you exercise regularly before your arrival. The ability to shoot is a must. I haughty suggest that you practice at ranges up to 500 yards. A lot of the shots will be less than that but it always helps to have different options. Most of the guides are every experienced at long range shooting so arrangements can be made to use one of our rifles that are set up for such distances if desired.
